The Psychologist

The Psychologist

I studied Psychology at the University of Crete, from where I graduated in 2008. In 2010 I completed the annual training program in Special Education at the University of the Aegean and in 2015 I completed my first master's degree in Health Unit Management at the Hellenic Open University. I continued my studies focusing on Psychotherapy and so in 2019 I completed my four-year training in Systemic Counseling and Psychotherapy, at AmKE Allelipdrasis, Associate Member of EFTA (European Family Therapy Association). In 2021 I obtained my second master's degree entitled MSc Psychology of Child Development from the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, Great Britain and in the period 2022 to 2023, I was trained by Play Therapy Greece (PTGr), a member of Play Therapy UK and Play Therapy International on the techniques, theory and materials of Therapeutic Play. Over the years I have attended numerous seminars, trainings and conferences. For example, I will mention the Management of School Bullying in 2018, the Child Footprint in 2019, the training program in the structured method TEACCH - Autism Program of The University of North Carolina in 2019 in Limassol, Cyprus, the two-day conference The Greenspan Floortime Approach ™ in 2019 in Athens, the “SOCIAL STORIES™ 10.2 | Social Histories” by Carol Gray in 2021, the 11th Conference of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA) entitled “Systemic Resonances and Interferences” in 2022 in Ljubljana, Slovenia and the 5th Panhellenic Interdisciplinary Conference on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder “From Child to Adult" in 2023 in Heraklion, Crete. In 2023 I started an educational course on Trauma and Complex Trauma, focused on understanding and dealing with it.

In 2013 I started the web portal autismosirakleio.gr and its facebook page "Autism - Autism", a community with over 25,000 followers. Since 2014, I have been offering therapeutic services to children, teenagers, adults, adults and families, adhering to the code of ethics of the Psychologist profession and the standards of the Psychotherapist profession, with continuous individual and group supervisions and ongoing personal mental development and treatment. Since 2019 I have been in my own place in Ammoudara Gaziou.

I remain active in the community, often giving talks and trainings to parents and teachers, responding to invitations from schools, clubs and organizations. Finally, I love teaching and so from 2020 until today, I have been teaching Developmental Psychology and Research Design courses in university undergraduate programs BSc (Hons) Psychology and BA (hons) Early Childhood Education of the University of East London, in collaboration with the Metropolitan College.
