Since my student years, my interest focused on autism and special education issues, attending relevant selected courses, seminars and workshops and doing my internship in relevant structures in the prefecture of Rethymnon and Heraklion. My thesis focused on a case study of a child with autism and an intervention according to the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Music Therapy.
I postgraduated in Special Education at the University of the Aegean and have completed my four-year training in Systemic Counselling (family therapy).
I completed my post-graduate degree at the Hellenic Open University in the department of "Health Unit Management" and my thesis was on the attitudes of families of children with autism towards the disorder and their stigmatization, in the prefecture of Heraklion and Rethymnon.
I have attended and continue to attend a number of specialized trainings, seminars, workshops and conferences on the family, the child and the adolescent, in the context of continuous training and information on the evolving field of intervention in the above groups.
In addition to individual and family sessions, I facilitate parent groups and give talks on child and adolescent and family relationships and autism issues.
